Can we find spiritually relevant and modern insights in Torah and Talmud?  How might our traditional texts provide answers to some of life’s ultimate questions?
We will consider what it means to say that God dwells among us and we will confront the Yetzer HaRah - the Evil Inclination!
Davey is a singer-songwriter who believes there is always a song to be sung. With guitar in hand, we will frame our session by singing songs informed by the text and infused with the blue grass/folk/gospel music that can stir our souls. We live in a world that is increasingly political, xenophobic, consumer-centric and self-serving. We will explore how the intertextual dialogue of our traditional texts is a reminder that, just as we are relational-beings, not meant to live in isolation on our mobile devices, the Five Books of Moses and rabbinic texts are meant to be read in conversation with each other and with each of us today as we strive for a sense of the transcendent. Any Hebrew or Aramaic text will include translations.
