The Supreme Court’s 2019- 2020 Term is one of the most consequential in decades for issues of religious freedom, religious institutions and social issues that have become profoundly religious in the public square.  Before July of this year, the Supreme Court will have decided cases involving: (1) government aid to religious schools; (2) civil rights protections for teachers in religious schools; (3) lawsuits against federal officials for infringing religious rights; (4) transgender rights; (5) abortion. We will examine each of these cases and their importance to Jews and the Jewish community.  We will also look at the various positions Jewish organizations have taken in friend of the court briefs in the cases.
