Stand Up or Step Back? A conversation about the responsibility and challenges of Jewish participation in social justice movements

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Jews have participated in every major social movement throughout American history. Most of these have been in solidarity with communities other than our own. From women's suffrage and the Women’s March; to the civil rights movement and Black Lives Matter; to Jews Against ICE and Never Again Action, Jews and organized Jewish life have been instrumental in the quest for social equity in the United States. However, over the past few years, Jewish organizations have had to ask difficult questions as they’ve been challenged by Antisemitism and anti-zionist rhetoric within social justice movements. Join us to examine this issue through a social work lens, and think deeply about how it interacts with intersecting identities that many Jews hold.
